I’m a fan of many things in life. Three of those things:
1. Magical Realism
2. Crime/Procedural Dramas
2. Jorge Garcia*
As such, Alcatraz is a near-perfect fit for me. There have only been three episodes so far but I have a lot questions. I’ll put them after the jump so as to not to ruin/spoil anything for anyone, you know, just in case.
(I can not promise the following thoughts are clear or in actual sentence form)
1. How do the Alcatraz inmates know about modern technology, etc… In the most recent episode Kit Nelson told Det. Madsen to throw her keys and her cell phones…how did he know about those things? I suppose he had been around at least a few days at that point, but that’s still lot to learn in just a few days. When Jack Sylvane woke up on Alcatraz, he just seemed to roll with the 50 year time difference like it was no big deal.
2. I know that Soto, Madsen & Hauser are catching the inmates but what is the public being told? Someone must be held accountable for these crimes, at least in the public’s eye? Are they creating false identities and saying these individuals are either killed while being apprehended, accept a plea deal?
3. So did Dr. Whatshisface age but Lucy did not? Maybe I’m being ageist, I thought he looked older/different, but I guess in real life he would be dead because he was pretty old in 1963.
